Information Notice

Friday, April 30th, 2021

Hey, hunn!
I would like to say thank you to EVERYONE that has been supporting me, as I have had an increase in business over the past few months.
For those of you who are newer, welcome. And for those of you who are long-time customers, thank you for your continuing support.
From 2012-2015 I worked for a prominent bakery downtown Detroit and got a lot of experience. I then started Smokahontas Bakery in April of 2016 and had my very first sale on April 12th, 2016. A friend purchased a dozen cupcakes and a dozen brownies for a party, and from there I literally never stopped.
When I first started making treats Michigan was a medical-only state, and I originally only sold to medical patients. I wanted my treats to be delicious BUT affordable to those in my community that needed them most.
In November of 2016 I started vending at medical-only events and wanted to keep things just as affordable, but also wanted to be able to cash out customers as quickly as possible.
In November of 2018, Michigan became a recreational state and my business expanded some. I was still the only baker within my business, but I started hiring delivery drivers around this time to help expand to more customers. I was delivering locally to both medical customers, and recreational customers, and prices remained the same as I STILL wanted things to be affordable for the customers that needed treats the most.
It is now April 2021. Five whole years after I first started my business, and prices have remained the same. $5 per dessert.
While I want to thank those who have been purchasing from me for literally years and those of you who have recently started. I appreciate you all, but it's time for me to grow a bit. For me to expand and grow, my business prices will need to rise. Effective April 30th, 2021 prices will now be $8 per dessert. Subject to increase without warning due to demand. Desserts will still be affordable while allowing me to purchase better equipment, hopefully, hire staff at a living wage and not just minimum wage, and expand further.
I have a lot in store moving forward, and I hope you will continue to support me and my business moving forward.

Thank you,
Amber, aka Smoke
